Changing Tube in C02 Chinese laser cutter.
Переглядів 87 тис.7 років тому
Simple process of replacing laser tube in typical chinese CO2 laser cutter. The replacement tube in this video was a brand called Cole Tech, from an ebay seller. The brand is junk and I got a refund shortly after. Cloudray branded tubes also appear to be junk and should be avoided. The best performing low-cost chinese tubes I have found is a brand called Tongli, sold on aliexpress. It was about...
Making Wood Wheels with Toy Wheel Cutter from Carbatec / Carbitool
Переглядів 97 тис.7 років тому
I demonstrate how to get a good finish using the 40mm toy wheel cutter I bought from Carbatec (same cutter pattern is also sold under a few different names). It's a bit hard to get a good finish on the wheels, so I explain some of the issues, and show my procedure for getting a good consistent finish on the cut wheels. makestuffnow

How to Make 4 Strand Round Braid with Leather
Переглядів 128 тис.7 років тому
It took me quite a while to learn how to do this because every video I found either had their hands in the way, or waffled on about nothing for 10 minutes instead of just getting on with it. This video is for people like me who just need to see the basic method once, and can figure out all the other details on their own. I'm using 3mm kangaroo leather lace.

an average multi meter probe will not insulate you properly to 20kv, please be careful before holding things directly touching the 20kv terminal, even if power is off it can still retain enough power for a while to kill you

One thing i would like to add is that you need to find a material on which you can see a defined spot. I used paper before and was never able to see a clear circle mark from the laser beam. Now i am using double sided tape without removing the back cover, and i an see a precise mark that makes adjusting a lot easier.

I came looking for videos and yours was the second one because the first one didn't look right/seemed too easy. But it is the same and you are doing it the difficult way. Check it out: you just cross over the same colour, then get the other 2 and cross them over under the first 2, binding the previous cross in place. repeat. done. Literally the same as you are doing except you are working on both of the same colour at a time.

Tin foil or aluminium foil saves glue gunk getting on your mirrors. Just stuck it to your tape over the mirror. Then keep adding tape.

in summary..for this machine..a 38mm lens is good for cutting thin metal for example where you need high power focused in a small area..the longer lens is for making straight cuts in softer and thicker material..in between those two is a good general purpose lens..running tests at various depths allows you to determine the focal pont for fine detail work. Thanks for a great video!
